Tiffany Chao, National Student Officer, Scholarly Activities & VIP Case Competition Rutgers University Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy Class of 2026 and co- author presented the poster, “Evaluating the Efficacy of a Pharmaceutical Industry Coaching Service” at the 2025 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting.
This poster highlighted the first of its kind measurement and reporting of pharmaceutical industry coaching outcomes with quantifiable results. This research encompassed all IPhO coaching clients from September 2013- May 2025. Of the coaching participants evaluated (N=599), 314 (53.8%) obtained an industry position. Seventy percent of the coaching requests were students, and thirty percent were experienced community and hospital pharmacists.
These findings demonstrate that during over a 10- year period the IPhO Coaching Service achieved a high success rate of 53.8% for students and experienced pharmacists from diverse practice settings. As industry fellowships and direct-to-industry opportunities become ever more competitive, utilizing a professional and proven industry coaching service is very valuable in gaining a competitive advantage.
