Biography


Jerry Silverman, RPh, CCP is the former President and CEO of Bimark Medical Communications (1992–2008) where he utilized his extensive experience in pharmaceutical marketing, training, and managed care to build a successful organization.

Mr. Silverman is most proud of his contributions to the professional growth and advancement of pharmacists in the pharmaceutical industry. From 1998-2008, Bimark served as a fellowship site for the Rutgers Post-Doctoral Program where Jerry recruited, hired, and trained PharmDs with a passion and pursuit for industry careers.

In 2008, Jerry was honored by the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education (ACME) for his commitment to the professional development of industry pharmacists.

Mr. Silverman professional career includes positions in sales, training, and marketing at Eli Lilly and, Searle. Jerry received his BS in Pharmacy from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Jerry is responsible for coaching clients with less than 5 years of industry experience including pharmacy students, recent graduates, fellows/residents, and various manager level positions.

The Executive Director and Founder of IPhO is James G. Alexander, PharmD, an alumnus of the University of Nebraska College of Pharmacy. Jim enjoyed a 15-year career in the pharmaceutical industry and rose to the level of Vice President, Corporate Development and Licensing for Pfizer and Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis before moving to academia to become the first Director of the Rutgers Institute for Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships. During this professionally rewarding 10-year period of his industry-focused career, he was responsible for the administration of the premier Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program for pharmacists and trained and mentored more than 400 PharmDs who are now working widely throughout the pharmaceutical/biopharma industry. Dr. Alexander is currently Executive Vice President at Strawn Arnold & Associates, a leading executive search firm.

Dr. Alexander is a strong advocate for the role that pharmacists can play in the pharmaceutical industry. In his role as Founder and Executive Director of IPhO, the first professional organization designed exclusively for industry-based pharmacists, Jim brings his distinguished experience in advocacy and professional development to support the professional careers of the growing number of industry-based pharmacists.

Jim is responsible for coaching clients with between 5-15 years of industry experience residing at various director level positions.

Together we will complete a Personal Brand Inventory that documents your peak life experiences; values; accomplishments; strengths and skills; dreams; hobbies; struggles--even quirks--and how these experiences have shaped you. This prepares us to create a Personal Brand Statement (your unique characteristics, and to whom and why they matter) and a Value Proposition (what you uniquely deliver that is of value to your target). These, in turn, help us to incorporate your Personal Brand into your resume, LinkedIn profile, personal biography and so on.

I work primarily with high potential, mid- or senior-level corporate executives and Human Resources or other personnel responsible for talent development. I coach one-on-one as well as in groups, and facilitate personal branding, mentoring and presentation skills workshops. Together we find the path of greatest satisfaction using vetted coaching tools and processes tailored to the individual.

My passion for personal branding and career strategy comes from a love of collaboration and inspiration, and from long-term experience using branding and advertising best practices of Fortune 500 marketers such as AstraZeneca; Colgate; PepsiCo; one of the Big Four accounting firms; Johnson & Johnson, multiple global pharmaceutical firms, and other major corporations.
